The crew behind the Cedarbay lantern
Cedarbayarcade began with a simple frustration: most write-ups of browser strategy games were either thin lists or recycled promotional copy. We wanted something closer to a good travel magazine, written by people who had actually spent weeks on these islands, prairies and seas, and who would tell you what the third week feels like as well as the first evening.
Our focus is deliberately narrow. We cover strategy and adventure games of the sea, the islands and the frontier, because the setting shapes the play: islands force trade, open water invites action, and contested land makes alliances matter. Narrow focus means we can play every game properly rather than skimming dozens.
Every review is built on extended play on live worlds, checked against official sources and refreshed when games change. We play from Canada, on ordinary laptops, around ordinary jobs, which keeps our sense of a game’s weekly time demand honest.
We write for curious, busy people who want to choose one good game and enjoy it, not for completionists who play everything. If our reviews help you find the right voyage for your evenings, the lantern has done its job.
We play long enough to find the third week
Early impressions mislead in this genre, so every game gets weeks of real play on a live world before it is scored.
We name exactly what the shop changes
Each review explains what premium currency buys and how much it matters, so you can judge fairness for yourself.
We check facts at the source
Mechanics, units and features are confirmed against official pages and trusted references before they appear in print.
